Family Glider
Wide, stable, and forgiving — the perfect family adventure canoe
About the Family Glider
The Family Glider is the canoe we recommend to every new paddler. Wide, forgiving, virtually tipproof, and built to take everything a family adventure can throw at it.
Not every canoe needs to be a performance instrument. Sometimes you want something that a 10-year-old can climb in and out of without drama, that won't flinch when it scrapes a gravel bar, and that your dog can sit in without compromising stability. The Family Glider was designed with all of those scenarios in mind. Its flat-arch hull provides the widest stable platform in our lineup. The three-seat arrangement allows two adults and one child, or one adult and gear. High-density polyethylene construction means this hull will survive decades of docks, rocks, and car rooftops. We include adjustable foot braces so paddlers of all heights can trim effectively, and the molded-in carrying handles require no hardware.

Our kids (ages 8 and 11) paddled this themselves on their first trip out. Zero tipping, easy to steer, and it absorbed everything our dog put it through. Perfect family canoe.
Heavier than expected at 72 lbs but extremely stable. The molded handles make it manageable for two adults. Great for lakes and gentle rivers.
